Visit to NewbridgeWe would like to say a huge thank you to all the children, parents and teachers of the school community and all our visitors from the different partner countries for making the Comenius Project Week such a wonderful event for all.
Many people gave their time, energy and effort to help make the week a great success and we greatly appreciate all of your hard work. In particular we would like to thank the host families, everyone who provided transport, food, all who helped with the fantastic evening on Monday and everyone who gave up their time to help with the activities. Without your assistance, we would not have been able to make the week so successful. The visitors from Germany, Greece, Poland, Romania and Spain were extremely complementary about the welcome they received by everyone and were amazed by the skills, talents and learning of the pupils at N.E.T.N.S. During the week we completed lots of great activities on our theme of biodiversity and worked together to help biodiversity at our school. Among many different activities, we shared presentations and work we had done on the theme of biodiversity, visited the Bog of Allen Nature Centre and went for a fantastic walking tour of the Curragh Plains with Liam. The children from the different partner countries also worked as a team to plant fruit trees in the N.E.T.N.S. orchard and build bird boxes for our woodland wildlife area. Their hard work will have a long lasting impact on wildlife at our school. We had such a successful week, even the national news came to see our work! |
